Objectives Members of the Executive Board

ERID-Watch is a Coordination Action that aims to mutually improve the policy mix of the Member-States in order to increase the public investment efficiency for European Research Infrastructures (RIs) and develop Public/Private Partnership (PPP) in this context. It is funded under the 6th Framework Programme.

Member States, Research Institutes, universities, RI operators and industrial companies engaged in this proposal intend to exchange their experience and policie, in order to build-up recommendations and best-practices methods.

They intend:

  • To better illustrate the public investment in RIs in exchanging on their common understanding of this economic mechanism and identifying the current practices devoted to optimise it,
  • To find strategies to reduce public spending for risk and to overcome possible impediments in the technical and industrial potential necessary to afford EU with world class RIs.
  • To compare and suggest ways for reducing/mitigating these risks in considering the involvement of private partners to the investment and running operations with the support of adequate dispositions as easing procurement markets participation,
  • To improve the nature of present customer/supplier relationship into a novel public laboratory/industry Knowledge and Technology (K&T) partnership, in which technology transfer may be associated to industrial property/investment sharing or specific subcontracting activities.
